Scrapscapes are lively little escapes into an unknown universe joyfully designed to energize your home and inspire your imagination.
Created in my minimal-waste studio from found paper ephemera, such as maps, book pages, brochures (any type of discarded print materials) as well as scraps from other studio projects and special "paint pages" I create to use up excess paint left on my brushes and palettes after working in the studio. These repurposed materials are combined with acrylic paints and inks to create mixed-media paintings that tell brave and vulnerable stories about adventure and what awaits in the great unknown.
Below are some LIMITED must-see sights to explore during your visit. These new features are available in very limited quantities so let me know if your favorites sell out before you get to them. I’d be happy to make more!
MUST-SEE SIGHTS TO EXPLORE WHILE YOU VISIT:
This year I offered something SPECIAL!
Collectors had the opportunity to request a customized Scrapscape artwork, designed to their specifications with absolutely no obligation to purchase. What!? Is this for real? YES!
I created a very limited number of fully customized mixed-media paintings during this collection launch. These collectors have the chance to purchase their customized artwork a couple days prior to the collection launch, before anyone else in the world gets to see it. If they choose to pass for whatever reason, the artwork will be available to the public with the rest of the collection!
If you’d like to know next time custom artwork requests are open, please sign up for VIP access below!
‘Day 9, 2020’
Not every planet or moon is quite what it seems in this little universe. Watch out for crossing Galazy Turtles!
This bright little painting was created primarily with acrylic paints, inks, hand painted art papers and graphite. It measures 4 x 4 inches and is matted for an 8 x10 frame. FRAME IS NOT INCLUDED. Hand-signed, dated and titled on back.
About the collection:
The Little Universe series is comprised of the first 25 days of of my 2020 100 Day Project and features little escapes into my Unknown Universe. If you look closely, you’ll find that many of these pieces serve as an adventurer’s guide, luring you through my world. Planets and moons in the background of one piece, move to the foreground of another. It’s such a fun way to explore!
The 100 Day Project is an annual event that challenges participants to do one creative thing for 100 days. You’ll find makers and artists of all skill levels and mediums sharing their projects from a painting a day, to a row of knitting on a scarf. From making one mark on a large canvas each day, to writing a whole poem. It’s really very inspiring! This year I am participating for the 4th time!
