Inspired by retro-futuristic technology and the power of imagination, I'm putting no limits on how creative inventions might make our lives even easier. From folding laundry and making the bed to preparing our meals and helping us get the best night's sleep, community-sourced responses to "If you had a machine or gadget that could make ANY part of your life easier... what would it be? What would it do?" have fueled this new series of work, starting with "Sweet Dreams Machine".

‘Sweet Dreams Machine’ is an award-winning one-of-a-kind original mixed media painting created in 2022. The artwork measures 8x8 inches and is cradled in a white float frame. Hand-signed, dated and titled.

This is what judge, Roy Saper had to say about the piece which he awarded Third Place honors during the MMAG Fall Member Show: "This artwork shows that small can be beautiful and award winning! This 8”-square acrylic and ink with paper collage and painting appears to be inspired from an imagined (dream-like) fantasy of industry and mechanized playfulness. It is carefully drawn using colors and forms that evoke imagination and dreams. The mixed-media is very nicely framed in a simple but appropriate white floater frame of proper width and spacing. Imagination defines the dream-like imagery and story. Truly unique!"

My mixed-media paintings are created from found paper ephemera, such as maps, book pages, brochures, any type of discarded paper scraps as well as scraps from other studio projects and special "paint pages" I create to use up excess paint left on my brushes and palettes after working in the studio.
