Visual Storytelling - Mixed Media Art Workshop | March 7, 2026
Saturday, March 7 | 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Cedar Street Art Collective | 1701 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910
Let go of perfectionism and loosen up!
Absolutely no experience necessary for this visual story-telling workshop led by mixed-media artist, Steph Joy Hogan. Steph will offer structure and guidance you as you create engaging stories with cut and torn paper. You’ll leave with a completely original mixed-media illustration that’s ready to frame!
This is a stand-alone workshop that will leave you eager for more! If you’d like to keep playing, register for Steph’s series of three workshops (February 7, March 7, April TBD) where you will build on the techniques learned and the materials you create.
This workshop is suitable for adult artists (18+ please!) of all skill and confidence levels and will take place in our studio located on the first floor of the Cedar Street Art Collective (right inside the bright red front door facing Cedar).
1701 S. Cedar Street, Lansing, MI 48910
Please note: Our historic building is full of charm, but sadly it lacks modern accessibility features. At this time, guests can expect a small step into the building, a slightly narrow entranceway, and three steps up to access the restroom and sink area.
Your guide, Steph Joy Hogan, is an award-winning mixed-media painter from Lansing, Michigan. She was voted Top Artist in the 2021 Lansing City Pulse Top of the Town contest (Top 3 in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2025) and her recognizably vibrant and whimsical artwork can be found in galleries and exhibitions throughout Mid-Michigan. Her work has been featured on two billboards, a CATA bus, and a bus shelter, and her commissioned mixed-media paintings can be found permanently installed in Impression 5 Science Center, the Susan and Jack Davis Nature Pavilion and Gallery at Fenner Nature Center, and the beautiful new headquarters of The Davies Project.
